Talk

Things have seemed heavy to me lately. When that happens I try and remember what tools I have that’ll keep me afloat until either circumstances calm down, or I adapt and develop new strength to manage it.

One of the most overlooked tools is simply: Talk

The amount of inner pressure that builds up in our bodies and minds can be enormous. Sudden illnesses, trouble sleeping, aches and pains, restlessness, change of appetite, migranes and so on. Our body let’s us know that something needs to change, but sometimes its hard to know where to begin.

Talking with a trusted person can help us feel connected to others. It acts as a release valve, defusing the pressure and easing our stress. It can help us to solve our own problems, or recieve valuable guidance in pointing us in the right direction. Talking can help organise our own muddled thoughts and make sense of them.

Talk with someone who makes you feel: safe, heard, not judged and empathised with.

Therapy provides these conditions with the addition of talking with outside of your circles, and trained to manage the more difficult emotions in a safe way. However, my message is simple today, wherever you can, if you’re struggling, find someone and Talk.
